Curfew imposed in border areas of Mohmand

GHALANAI: A curfew was imposed on Monday in border areas of Khwezai, Biazai and some localities of Safi tehsil of Mohmand Agency for next three days after an IED blast injured two security personnel the other day, officials said.

Following the curfew, all the bazaars were closed and there was complete ban on people’s movement in the area.

On the other hand, the local residents said that a curfew had been imposed in Khwezai and Biazai areas for an unknown period.

The IED blast had occurred in Yaqubi Kandow area of Biazai, when the security personnel were on a routine patrol along the Pak-Afghan border.

Similarly, an IED explosion also occurred in Qandahari Aman Ghundi area of Safi tehsil, but no loss of life was reported in the incident.
